Women's Soccer Ready for Weekend BIG EAST Action

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's soccer team looks to finish their season in a winning fashion with their final four games at home against BIG EAST foes. This weekend the Scarlet Knights will face St. John's and Syracuse at Yurcak Field.
Rutgers is 6-7-2 and 1-4-2 in the BIG EAST, currently in seventh place in the National division. The team is four points behind fifth-place team Villanova, as the top five teams from each division reach the BIG EAST tournament.
Rutgers has been led offensively by sophomore Gina DeMaio (Parsippany, N.J.), who has five goals on the season. Three of her five goals have come via free or penalty kicks. Sophomore goalie Erin Guthrie (Sparta, N.J.) has six shutouts on the season and 20 for her career, good for fourth place on the Rutgers all-time list.
The Scarlet Knights will take on St. John's on Friday, Oct 19, at 7 p.m. Syracuse then comes to Yurcak Field on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m.
