Guthrie Receives BIG EAST Weekly Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers sophomore goalkeeper Erin Guthrie (Sparta, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her work during the past week. Guthrie went 1-0-1 in BIG EAST play, shutting out Villanova in a 0-0 tie before helping to defeat Georgetown 2-1. She recorded seven saves in the two games.

Guthrie now has five shutouts on the season and 19 for her career, good for fourth place on the Rutgers all-time list. It is Guthrie's second appearance on the Honor Roll this season.

Connecticut junior goalie Stephanie Labbe was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the week.

The Scarlet Knights next play Tuesday, Oct. 2 at non-conference foe Princeton, before taking on No. 21 University of Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 5.
