Ryan Named to Soccerbuzz Elite Team of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers women's soccer senior co-captain Meghan Ryan (Crofton, Md.) was named to the Soccerbuzz Elite Team of the Week for her role in anchoring a defense that shut out two opponents in a 2-0-0 week.

In a 1-0 victory over St. John's on Friday night, the Rutgers defense held the Red Storm to eight shots, but only two on goal. In the second half of that game, the Scarlet Knights defense buckled down and did not allow a single shot on goal to hold on for the win.

On Sunday afternoon, RU's second-half defense was solid again, as they limited Syracuse to only one shot on goal in a 2-0 victory. Ryan also received BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors for her play.
