Lewis Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rutgers forward Amy Lewis was named the final BIG EAST field hockey Offensive Player of the Week Monday. In addition, senior Corrine Bach was named to the leagues Weekly Honor Roll.
The Scarlet Knights posted a 1-1 record over the final weekend of action as RU defeated BIG EAST foe Georgetown 8-2, before falling to Columbia in a hard fought match 2-1 to wrap up the 2007 season.
Lewis tallied 10 points over the weekend as the junior scored five goals. Against Georgetown, she tallied four goals on 16 shots and in the match-up with Columbia she posted the team's lone goal off a corner. Lewis leads the league in points (44), goals (20) and game-winning goals (6).
Bach had two assists against Georgetown to become the all-time assist leader in Rutgers history and she also assisted on Lewis' goal to bring her assist total to three on the weekend.
Joining Bach on the Weekly Honor Roll list are Melissa Gonzalez of Connecticut, Sam Hass of Villanova, Allison Maffitt of Louisville, and Abby Maguire of Providence.
