Rutgers Men's Soccer Host Nationally-Ranked Brown Wednesday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers men's soccer team (7-9-0) will break from its conference schedule to take on Brown University on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 7:00 p.m. at Yurcak Field.
The Scarlet Knights will look to rebound from a pair of conference losses at St. John's 1-0 (Oct. 24) and Louisville 3-1 (Oct. 28). In RU's setback at Louisville, senior Chris Moore (Gosforth, England) scored the team's lone goal on an assist from freshman Stafford Chipungu (Randallstown, Md.).
Rutgers is led by sophomore Tomislav Barisic (Osijek, Croatia) who has five goals on the season, followed by senior Adam Sternberger (Mays Landing, N.J.) with three goals. The Scarlet Knights have also received goals from three players with two each and five players with one goal apiece.
Moore leads the team with five assists, while Sternberger and freshman Dilly Duka (Montville, N.J.) have both recorded four assists.
Rutgers has won its previous two meetings versus Brown and is 2-1 all-time against the Bears.
Brown, ranked fourth by Soccer America and sixth by the NSCAA, boasts a sterling record of 11-1-1 entering Wednesday's contest. The Bears are led by Dylan Sheehan and Kevin Davies who each have eight goals on the season. Sheehan is also tied with Darren Howerton for the team lead in assists with six.
Rutgers will conclude its regular season on Saturday, Nov. 3, when it hosts BIG EAST foe Cincinnati at 7:00 p.m. The match carries major playoff implications with the Scarlet Knights as well as Cincinnati and Syracuse vying for the six and final spot in the Red Division. The top six teams from the blue and red divisions will advance to the 2007 BIG EAST Championship which begins on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
