Rutgers Field Hockey Falls at No. 17 Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Rutgers saw its two-game win streak come to a halt, falling at No. 17 Louisville by a 4-0 score on Friday afternoon at Trager Stadium.
The Scarlet Knights move to 7-6 on the year, 0-3 in BIG EAST play while the Cardinals improve to 8-5 and 3-1 in league competition.
U of L senior Allison Maffitt recorded her team-leading sixth goal of the season, connecting on a pass from Janelle Avila on the left side of the cage just three minutes into the game. Avila set up freshman with a dish from the right side of the circle to make it a 2-0 game at the 24:18 mark.
Two minutes later, the Cardinals stretched the lead to 3-0. Louisville, who scored another tally in the second half, out-shot Rutgers 16-4 and had 10 corners to the Scarlet Knights' two.
Rutgers senior goalkeeper Rosalyn Wentko had nine saves in the loss and junior Amy Lewis had two of the team's four shots.
RU plays No. 19 Virginia on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Louisville.
