BRONX, N.Y. - The Rutgers University volleyball team fell to Fordham 3-0 (30-17, 30-22, 30-14) in its final non-conference match of the season at Rose Hill Gym Wednesday evening.
Sophomore Kyra Thompson (Tuscon, Ariz.) posted a team-high nine kills as the Scarlet Knights drop to 3-20 on the season. Fordham improves to 14-18 with the victory.
Sophomore Sophie Cook (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added to Rutgers' kill total with seven, while Lauren Voss (Hartland Wis.) led RU with nine digs.
Fordham hit .337 as a team and posted a season-high 15 service aces. Five Rams had at least two service aces and six had at least five kills in a balanced team effort. Lauren Fitzsimon recorded eight kills, four aces, six digs and four blocks in the win.
Rutgers will complete its season this weekend with back-to-back conference road matches at West Virginia Saturday and Pittsburgh Sunday
