PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers, unranked in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association preseason poll, are receiving votes in the second week of the season.
The Scarlet Knights moved to 3-0 this past weekend with a win over Delaware, their best season start since 1990.
The squad is receiving votes in the IWLCA poll, ranking Rutgers 21st in a vote among coaches. North Carolina (5-0) tops the poll and Northwestern is second. BIG EAST member Notre Dame is ranked sixth. Cornell, who Rutgers beat to start its season, is ranked No. 17.
Rutgersentertains No. 9 Princeton on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played at the RU Turf Field.
Sophomores Michelle Poole and Nina Frankoski pace the team with 11 points apiece. Poole, a member of the BIG EAST weekly honor roll this week, has registered nine goals and two assists this season. Frankoski has accounted for seven scores and four assists.
In total, six players have scored four goals or more this season and five have recorded seven or more scores for Rutgers.
