Rutgers Field Hockey Announces 2007 Recruiting Class

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers head field hockey coach Liz Tchou has announced the team will welcome five recruits beginning in the fall of 2007. The class includes four New Jersey natives as well as one player from Canada.
The list of recruits includes: Courtney Bergin, a forward midfielder from Rumson, N.J.; Jenna Bull, a forward midfielder from Canada; Janice Camlin, a forward midfielder from Thorofare, N.J.; Heather Garces, a mid-back from Cream Ridge, N.J.; and Colleen Reminsky, a back from Boonton, N.J.
Bergin joins the Scarlet Knights as a four-year starter at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. During her senior season, she scored 23 goals and recorded seven assists as her team posted a 14-5-1 record and was the Central Jersey Group II champions. Bergen was named to the 2006 Star Ledger All-Group-II and team. During her career at Rumson, she totaled 48 goals and 18 assists. She was also a member of the lacrosse team in 2004 and the golf team from 2005 through 2007.
Bull, a native of Oakville, Ontario, is a two-time Most Valuable Player at Oakville Trafalgar High School. She played in 40 games her senior year, scoring 27 goals and recording 26 assists. Her high school team won the bronze medal at the Ontario High School Championships this past season. Bull also participated in the Halton All-Star Tournament in 2005 and 2006 and was named the Tournament MVP in 2006. A multi-sport athlete, Bull was also a member of Oakvilles volleyball, soccer and ice hockey teams, earning MVP honors in both soccer and ice hockey.
Camlin, a forward midfielder, has been both a standout field hockey player and student at West Deptford High School. She is a four-year varsity starter and named captain her senior year. Camlin also participated in one year of varsity track and field and softball. She also boasts a 4.9 GPA and is in the top 10 percent of her graduating class.
Garces, another New Jersey native, comes to Rutgers from New Egypt High School where she tallied 25 goals and 38 assists over four seasons. She is a two-time captain and three-year varsity letterwinner. She played in two consecutive New Jersey State Field Hockey Championship games (2005, 2005) and helped her team win the Group I State Championship title in 2005. In 2006, she earned Third Team All-State honors and was the Star Ledger Ocean County Player of the year.
Reminsky rounds out the class, joining the team from Boonton High School. Reminksy was named captain for her senior year and received the 2006 Coaches Award. Her team reached the championship game of the Morris County Tournament, the first time a Boonton field hockey team had ever reached the finals. In addition, she was named first team All-Colonial Hills conference this past year, as well as second-team All-North Jersey. She took part in the 2006 Senior All-Star game, as well. Reminksy is also a member of the swimming and track and field teams at Boonton. She was a two-time MVP for the swim team and was named captain of the track team for her upcoming senior season.
