PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers junior Amy Lewis (Hainesport, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Field Hockey Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.
Lewis posted a pair of goals for the Scarlet Knights last week, as Rutgers went 1-1. RU recorded a 1-0 overtime win over Cornell on Sunday and dropped its league opener at Syracuse on Friday.
In the 1-0 win over the Big Red, Lewis scored in the 82nd minute of play for her fourth game-winning tally of the season. The goal came off a pass from senior Cat Badolato (Berlin, N.J.). On Friday evening, Lewis registered the team's only score in a 2-1 set-back at Syracuse. She converted a penalty corner early in the second half to knot the score at 1-1.
Lewis leads both the Scarlet Knights and the BIG EAST with 10 goals this season. In addition, she paces the league in points (21), points per game (2.62) and shots (47).
Rutgerswill host BIG EAST opponent Villanova on Friday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m.
