Vaughn Named o BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Piscataway, N.J. - Rutgers University center Kia Vaughn (Bronx, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST women's basketball weekly honor roll, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The 6-4 center averaged 16.5 points and 14.5 boards in the Scarlet Knights' 2-0 week. In addition, Vaughn had a combined five blocks and four steals in conference wins over Cincinnati and Villanova.
The junior collected a career-high 21 rebounds on Tuesday in a 71-41 win at Cincinnati. The caroms were the most by a single RU player since Sue Wicks corralled 21 on Jan. 29, 1987. Vaughn added a team-best 16 points in the victory.
On Saturday in a 63-54 triumph over Villanova, Vaughn recorded 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. The Bronx native added three blocks. The last block was the 200th of her career.
Previously, Vaughn was named to the league honor roll on Nov. 26.
The Scarlet Knights (17-2, 7-0) return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 29 traveling to Morgantown, W.Va. for a 7:00 p.m. tip with No. 12 West Virginia (16-3, 5-1).
