SNY to Televise Rutgers Women's Basketball Contest at Cal

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - SportsNet New York will televise the Rutgers at California game on November 21, it was announced today. The contest will originate on the Comcast Network as part of the Pac-10 package. SNY will air the game live from Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif., beginning with the 11:00 p.m. tip (EST).
SNY, the television home of the New York Mets and Jets, became the exclusive home of Rutgers Athletics in July.
In total, Rutgers women’s basketball will make 14 national/regional television appearances during the 2008-09 regular season. The 14 showings do not include post-season play. The Scarlet Knights will also appear on SNY on Sat., Jan. 31 as part of the BIG EAST package.
The Scarlet Knights entertain Tennessee before a national audience on CBS on Jan. 3 at 2:00 p.m.
RU has three appearances on ESPN2, beginning with a Dec. 8 home contest versus Georgia in the Jimmy V Classic. Rutgers travels to Maryland on Sunday, Feb. 15 for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. The final showing on ESPN2 is the last game of the regular season, a home meeting with Connecticut on March 2.
The Scarlet Knights perform on ESPNU on three occasions. RU takes on Army on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 12:00 p.m. at Madison Square Garden as part of the Maggie Dixon Classic. The contest at Louisville (Jan. 11) will be broadcast on ESPNU as will a home date with Marquette (Jan. 18).
Rutgers will make its first appearance of the year on CBS College Sports with a contest at Temple on Dec. 1. RU will appear on CBS College Sports five times which includes a showdown at UConn on Tuesday, Feb. 3
The Scarlet Knights will officially begin their season on Friday, Nov. 14, against Saint Joseph’s. Tip-off time has been set for 5:00 p.m. at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.
