Prince Selected BIG EAST Player of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers University guard Epiphanny Prince (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was tabbed the BIG EAST women's basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Prince helped lead the Scarlet Knights to a 73-71 upset of previously unbeaten and top-ranked Connecticut on Feb. 5. The guard registered a career-best 33 points, 27 in a dominating second half performance. The second-year player added six rebounds and a career-tying six steals versus the Huskies. She went a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line and was 10-of-20 from the field.
The accolade is the first Player of the Week nod for Prince of her career. The Brooklyn product paces the Scarlet Knights in scoring (14.0) and steals (2.7). She is shooting 44.7 percent from the field.
Rutgers (19-3, 9-1) climbed back to No. 5 in the Associated Press poll, released this afternoon while Tennessee - tonight's opponent - took over the top spot.
The Scarlet Knights and Lady Volunteers (21-1, 8-0 SEC) tip off at 7:00 p.m. this evening at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville. The game is being broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
