Lewis Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the third time this season, Rutgers senior forward Amy Lewis (Hainesport, N.J.) was selected the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. Lewis previously was named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1 and Sept. 15.
Lewis scored four goals in two games to help the Scarlet Knights (9-1, 1-1 BIG EAST) record a 2-0 week. On Sunday, Rutgers defeated New Hampshire 4-3 after Lewis netted the game-winning tally a minute into the overtime period.
On Friday, Sept. 26, Lewis registered a pair of scores in a 3-0 win at Georgetown. Lewis took 10 shots on the week, five of those on goal.
As a team, the nine wins on the season are the most under head coach Liz Tchou and the most for the program since 1999 (10).
Rutgers is back in action on Friday, Oct 3 hosting league foe Louisville at 7:30 p.m.
