Rutgers Men's Soccer Head Coach Bob Reasso Resigns

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 30, 2009) – Rutgers Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tim Pernetti announced Monday that men’s soccer coach Bob Reasso has resigned from his position of head men’s soccer coach at Rutgers. Rutgers assistant coach David Boutilier will serve as the program’s interim coach while a national search is conducted.
“I had an unbelievable 29 years at Rutgers University and Rutgers will always be a part of me,” said Reasso. “It is time to look for new challenges in my career. I want to personally thank the many friends at Rutgers I have had, including Tim Pernetti, Bob Mulcahy, Kevin MacConnell, Gene Wells and Matt Colagiovanni. I will always root for the Scarlet Knights.”
Reasso spent 29 seasons as head coach at Rutgers and finished his career with an overall record of 351-183-71.
“We truly appreciate Bob’s commitment to our men’s soccer program and I thank him for his years of service,” said Pernetti. “He elevated our program during his tenure and was a key part of our past success in the sport.”
