The Scarlet Knights last victory over the Pirates was on Oct. 4, 2004, where they took the win 3-0.
In their last match, Rutgers downed another in-state rival, Rider, at College Ave. Gym. The Scarlet Knights used a season-high 11 aces, recorded by seven different players and Stephanie Zielinski’s (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) 14th career double-double to help them drop the Broncs, 3-0.
For the season, Rutgers has been led by senior captain Caitlin Saxton (Encinitas, Calif.) who leads RU in kills (204), digs (174), and services aces (20).
