Storrs, Conn. (October 24, 2010) – The Rutgers volleyball team dropped its second match of a four-game BIG EAST road swing to UConn, 3-0, at Gampel Pavilion.
The Huskies (3-16, 1-7 BIG EAST) posted scores of 25-21, 29-27 and 25-23 to knock off the Scarlet Knights (9-13, 1-7 BIG EAST).
The Scarlet Knights were led by sophomore Stephanie Zielinski (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) who recorded her 10thdouble-double of the season with 23 assists and 13 digs. The RU offense was paced by senior Caitlin Saxton (Encinitas, Calif.) and sophomore Alex Jones (Chesapeake, Va.) who each notched 12 kills.
Rutgers returns to action Friday when it travels to Washington, D.C. to take on the Georgetown Hoyas in an 8 p.m. matchup.
