
Rutgers Men's Soccer Faces NJIT On The Road Tuesday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 4, 2010) – The Rutgers men’s soccer team will face in-state foe NJIT on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. The match is the Scarlet Knights’ third-straight on the road.
Last week, Rutgers suffered two road losses at Temple (2-4-2) and BIG EAST member Cincinnati (4-2-3, 2-0), both by a score of 2-0.
RU’s senior forward Yannick Salmon (Westbury, N.J.) leads the offense with three goals. Junior forward Sam Archer (Queens, N.Y.) follows with two goals for the Scarlet Knights. Also tallying goals on the season are junior defender Bryant Knibbs (Pine Bush, N.Y.), senior defender Andrew Cuevas (Wayne, N.J.) and junior forward Ibrahim Kamara (North Brunswick, N.J.) with one apiece. Junior midfielder Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.) leads the team in assists with two.
Rutgers looks to get back on the winning track against NJIT which is 2-7 on the season. The Highlanders defeated both Army and Albany at the start of the season and are now looking to break a six-game losing streak. NJIT is led by Jack McVey who has five goals on the season. Also posing as an offensive threat is Nils Warfving with two scores.
RU is 2-1 all-time against NJIT. Last time the two faced each other was on Oct. 21, 2009 with Rutgers picking up a win at home 2-1.
