Rutgers Volleyball Falls to Marquette

PISCATAWAY, N.J (Nov 6, 2010) – The Rutgers volleyball team dropped a three set match to Marquette University this afternoon at College Ave Gym.
The Golden Eagles (19-7, 9-2 BIG EAST) posted scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-23 to knock off the Scarlet Knights (10-15, 2-9 BIG EAST).
The Rutgers offense was paced by captains Stephanie Zielinski (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and Caitlin Saxton (Encinitas, Calif.). Saxton notched a team-high 12 kills while Zielinski paced the team with 34 assists. The RU defense was led by Emma Chrystal (Portage, Mich.) who recorded a match-high 13 digs.
The Scarlet Knights return to action Sunday when they host the Syracuse Orange in a 2 p.m. matchup at College Ave. Gym.
