PISCATAWAY, N.J (Nov 7, 2010) – The Rutgers volleyball team dropped a three set match to the Syracuse Orange this afternoon at College Ave Gym.

The Orange (23-7, 5-7 BIG EAST) posted scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-21 to knock off the Scarlet Knights (10-16, 2-10 BIG EAST).

Leading the way for the Scarlet Knights was freshman Brittany Bozzini (Saratoga, Calif.) who tallied seven kills and a nine digs. Alex Jones (Chesapeake, Va.) and Caitlin Saxton (Encinitas, Calif.) also put in strong offensive performances for RU, tallying eight and nine kills respectively.

The RU defense was paced by libero Emma Chrystal (Portage, Mich.), who tallied a match-high 12 digs, and Lauren Voss (Hartland, Wis.), who tallied two blocks.    

The Scarlet Knights return to action next Saturday, Nov. 13, when they host Notre Dame in a 10 a.m. matchup at College Ave. Gym.
