Holly Johnson Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 29, 2010) – Sophomore Holly Johnson (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) of the Rutgers softball team was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday. The sophomore posted a 2-0 week, tossing her first career no-hitter against Stony Brook last Wednesday.

Against the Seawolves, Johnson just missed a perfect game, committing an error, issuing one walk and hitting a batter while striking out seven. For the week, the lefty fanned 14 batters in 14.0 innings and held opponents to a .130 clip.

This is the second conference honor for Johnson, who was named Pitcher of the Week after the USF Tournament on March 8.     

Johnson and the Scarlet Knights head to Long Island University Tuesday to take on the Blackbirds in a doubleheader. Action starts at 4:30 p.m.
