
Rutgers Men's Soccer Travels to Philadelphia to Face Temple

Philadelphia, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2010) – Rutgers men’s soccer (3-2-1) heads to Philadelphia Wednesday, Sept. 29 to face Atlantic 10 foe Temple (1-4-2). Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. at the Ambler Sports Complex.
After being unbeaten in their prior four contests, Rutgers was edged 1-0 at home Friday night by Marquette. The lone goal came in the 58th minute from MU’s sophomore forward Chris Madsen.
On the season, senior forward Yannick Salmon (Westbury, N.Y.) leads the Scarlet Knights in scoring with three goals, followed by junior forward Sam Archer (Queens, N.Y.) with two goals. Junior midfielder Robbie McClarney (Londonderry, N.H.) paces the team in assists with two. The Scarlet Knights have tallied eight goals (from five different players) through their first six games.
In goal for the Knights will be junior Adam Klink (Chesapeake, Va.) who is 3-1 on the year with a pair of shutouts, the first coming against Saint Peter’s and the other against Long Island University. Klink is second in the BIG EAST in save percentage (.882).
The Temple Owls (1-4-2) earned their lone win against Rider on Sept. 22, where the Owls shut out the Broncs, 4-0. In their last match, the Owls fell to Siena, 2-1. Temple has managed seven goals to start the year. Pacing the team is freshman midfielder Ryan Bradburywith two goals. Five Owls have also chipped in one goal apiece.
Rutgers and Temple have not faced each other since the 2004 season, which Temple won 1-0 at Yurcak Field. RU has won seven of the last ten meetings against Temple and leads the all-time series by an 18-15 mark.
