
Rutgers Men's Soccer Hosts Villanova Wednesday Night

Rutgers men’s soccer (5-5-1, 2-1-0 BIG EAST) will host Villanova on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Yurcak Field. The Scarlet Knights will play the second of seven-straight BIG EAST regular-season games. The match will be broadcast on Verizon FiOS 1 on tape delay and streamed live on RVision.
Wednesday marks the 19th matchup between the two schools with the series is tied, 8-8-2. The Scarlet Knights will look to snap a five-game skid against the Wildcats.
Rutgers is coming off a 2-1 win over Cincinnati at home on Sunday. Senior midfielder Nate Bourdeau (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) kicked the game winning goal against the Bearcats.
Sophomore forward Kene Eze (Sayreville, N.J.) and freshman forward Juan Pablo Correa (Montville, N.J.) are tied for the lead in points with 12 each. Eze has five goals and two assists, while Correa has tallied four goals and four assists.
Junior Kevin McMullen (Blackwood, N.J.) has started the past nine games in goal for Rutgers with a 1.53 goals-against-average and 28 saves.
Villanova tied DePaul 1-1 in its most recent action. Freshman midfield Hayden Harr scored from an assist by sophomore forward Dylan Renna 42 minutes into the game. The Blue Demons responded with the game-tying goal in the 85th minute. Aaron Dennis ties Emerson Lawrence for the lead in points this season for the Wildcats with eight each. John Fogarty has started all twelve games at goal for Villanova with 47 saves.
