
Rutgers Men's Soccer Hosts Cincinnati Sunday

Rutgers men’s soccer (4-5-1, 1-1-0 BIG EAST) returns home to face Cincinnati (4-6-1, 0-2-0 BIG EAST) on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Yurcak Field in the first of seven straight BIG EAST match for the Scarlet Knights. The contest will be broadcast via tape delay on Verizon FiOS1 and can be seen live on RVision.
Sunday marks the eighth matchup between the two teams, with the series tied at 3-3-1. The Scarlet Knights and Bearcats split the previous two meetings with RU earning a 3-0 shutout in 2009, while UC won 2-0 last season.
RU is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 2 Maryland on Tuesday in College Park, Md. Senior Sam Archer (Queens, N.Y.) scored his first goal of the season off a rebound for the Scarlet Knights.
Sophomore forward Kene Eze (Sayreville, N.J.), who was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following a hat trick against Adelphi, leads Rutgers in points with 12 on five goals and two assists. Freshman forward Juan Pablo Correa (Montville, N.J.) is second with 11 points on four goals and three assists.
Junior Kevin McMullen (Blackwood, N.J.) has started the last eight games in goal for the Scarlet Knights with a 1.59 goals-against-average and 24 saves.
Cincinnati was victorious in their last outing, defeating SIU Edwardsville 2-1. D.J. Albert and Matt Remaley scored goals for the Bearcats.
Cole DeNormandie leads Cincinnati in points this season with 10 on five goals. Leon Powell, Shamar Shelton, Albert and Remaley are all tied for second with five points each. Joey Barnard has played all 11 games in the net for the Bearcats, posting a 1.15 goals-against-average with 40 saves.
