
Rutgers Women's Basketball Team Announces Promotional Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 9, 2011) – The Rutgers University marketing office has announced its promotional schedule for the upcoming Scarlet Knights women’s basketball schedule.
RU begins its 2011-12 campaign on Sunday, Nov. 13 with a home contest against California. All fans in attendance will receive a women’s basketball schedule poster – sponsored by STS – and magnet – sponsored by Rutgers School of Engineering – following the game’s conclusion. Players will be available for autographs after Sunday’s game. Also set for Sunday is Kids’ Day, kids 12-and-under will receive free admission with the purchase of at least one adult ticket. The Rutgers’ Kids’ Zone will open at 12:30 p.m. – in the southwest lobby/court level – with free amusements, games and more.
The RAH Food Drive will also take place on Sunday – as well as Dec. 18 when RU plays Iona. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help restock local food pantries.
The November 30 game against Temple will feature the SAAC Toy Drive. Fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped books and toys for the area’s neediest children. Rutgers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be on hand to collect donations.
This season will feature two Faculty/Staff Nights, scheduled for the Dec. 13 game versus Tennessee and Jan. 31 game against Notre Dame. Rutgers faculty and staff will be able to purchase tickets at a special rate, for advanced purchases only. Pack the House Night will also take place on the contest against the Lady Vols. RU will compete against other Division I schools for the chance to be the 2011-12 NCAA Women’s Basketball Pack the House Challenge Champion in efforts to grow the sport of women’s basketball. National Girls and Women in Sports Day will take place at the contest versus the Fighting Irish.
Grandparents’ Day is scheduled for the Dec. 18 contest against Iona. Grandparents will receive free admission with the purchase of at least one children’s ticket. Available day of the game only.
“Family 4-Packs” are available for the Jan. 7 game against Cincinnati. Families can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas at a discounted price of only $40. This promotion is for advance purchases only.
The contest against Louisville (Jan. 14) is Youth Hoopsters’ Night, as well as Scouts’ Day. Kids 12 and under wearing their youth basketball jersey will receive free admission with the purchase of at least on adult ticket, available day of game only. Scout Troops can also purchase discount tickets and receive a Rutgers Scout Day patch. Advance purchase only.
WBCA Play 4Kay Pink Night will take place in the contest against St. John’s (Feb. 12). All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game in support of the WBCA’s campaign for breast cancer awareness, Play 4Kay.
Fan appreciation night will take place on the season finale versus Marquette (Feb. 27).
