Rutgers Tennis Hosts Connecticut on Senior Day

Manasquan, N.J. (April 12, 2011) - Rutgers tennis (14-5, 6-3) hosts Connecticut in a BIG EAST matchup on Tuesday, April 19 at noon at the Atlantic Club. The match - originally scheduled for April 13 - will serve as Rutgers Senior Day, honoring Amy Zhang (Plano, Texas), who currently sits at 7-1 in conference play at No. 1 singles.
The Scarlet Knights are coming off a weekend split, as the squad lost to the Georgetown Hoyas (4-3) and bounced back with a blanking of the Villanova Wildcats (7-0). Junior Morgan Ivey (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) successfully outplayed both opponents in singles and paired with Stef Balasa (East Brunswick, N.J.) to lead RU to victories at No. 3 doubles.
After falling to West Virginia, 5-2, the Huskies are currently 5-9 on the season. Jennifer Learmonth and Lucy Nutting were the lone victors in No. 1 and No. 6 singles over the Mountaineers, respectively.
