Rutgers Women's Tennis Announces 2011 Fall Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 25, 2011) - The Rutgers women's tennis team released its 2011 fall schedule, head coach Ben Bucca announced Monday. The Scarlet Knights - who went 16-7 last spring - will play in three tournaments in addition to contesting one home match and one away match.
"We have a very demanding and exciting fall schedule," said Bucca. "We will be competing against the quality of teams we deserve to compete against. These are some of the best teams in the region and in the nation."
RU will open its fall slate with a home match against NJIT at the Rutgers Tennis Complex on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. Admission to the match is free.
The Scarlet Knights will head to Providence, R.I. the following week to play in the Brown Invitational from Sept. 23 - Sept. 25. Other teams scheduled to compete include Dartmouth, Boston University, Boston College, Brown and Auburn.
After nearly a two-week layoff, Rutgers will make a trip up to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. - site of the US Open - to play in the three-day USTA Invitational, starting Oct. 8. Twenty teams from across the nation will make the trek to Queens to play at one of the best tennis facilities in the country.
After returning to New York City to play a road match against Columbia on Oct. 18, the Scarlet Knights will wrap-up the fall schedule at the ITA Regional hosted by Yale University from Oct. 20 - 24.
The complete spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
