PROVIDENCE, R.I. (October 1, 2012) - Rutgers soccer junior forward Kene Eze (Sayreville, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday. Eze was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week after scoring both game winners in a 2-0 week for the Scarlet Knights (5-3, 1-1).
This is the first league honor for Eze. He was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week. The forward paces the Scarlet Knights with three goals in 2012, all game winners.
Eze notched what proved to be the game-winning goal in RU's 2-1 win over Central Connecticut State last Wednesday. The junior also scored the game winner in a 2-1 win over Louisville Sunday afternoon. It marked RU's first win over UofL since 2008.
Eze and the rest of the Scarlet Knights head to Syracuse for a midweek clash with the Orange on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
