
Rutgers Soccer Honors Seniors vs. Villanova on Wednesday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 22, 2012) - The Rutgers men's soccer team (6-7-1, 2-4-1) prepares for its final home contest of the regular season against Villanova (10-4-2, 2-2-2) on Wednesday, October 24. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. and will serve as Senior Night for Robin Brown (Edinburgh, Scotland), Kevin McMullen (Blackwood, N.J.) and Dragan Naumoski (Fair Lawn, N.J.).
The Scarlet Knights return to Yurcak Field after dropping a 1-0 decision at Cincinnati. Rutgers offense is led by junior forward Kene Eze (Sayreville, N.J.) and freshman midfielder Mael Corboz (Green Brook, N.J.). Eze has tallied six goals and one assist on the season, while Corboz has three scores and six helpers, two shy of the league lead.
In net for RU will be McMullen, who owns a 1.20 GAA with 63 saves and three shutouts.
RU leads in the all-time series vs. VU, posting a 9-8-2 overall mark. The Scarlet Knights rallied in last year's meeting, notching a 3-2 come-from-behind win with two goals from Bryant Knibbs.
Villanova is led by senior Kyle Soroka with 14 points on six goals and two assists. The Wildcats have three players with eight-plus points. Between the pipes will be redshirt senior John Fogarty. The netminder owns a 0.80 GAA with 70 saves and five shutouts.
The Wildcats are coached by Tom Carlin, who is currently in his fifth season with Villanova. Carlin has led Villanova to four-consecutive Big East Tournament appearances over his first four years.
