PISCATAWAY, N.J. (January 2, 2014) – The first 1,000 fans when Rutgers meets Memphis at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 will receive an Eddie Jordan bobblehead as a part of “That 70’s Knight” at the RAC. RU’s all-time leader in both assists (585) and steals (220), Jordan scored 1,632 career points, helped the Scarlet Knights to the 1976 Final Four and earned honorable mention All-American honors as a senior in 1977.
Jordan, who has led the Scarlet Knights to three consecutive victories, including a 71-66 win over Temple in the American Athletic Conference opener last night, was named the 18th head coach in Rutgers men’s basketball history on April 23, 2013. He returned to “The Banks” with an NBA Championship ring and with 28 seasons of coaching experience, including eight at the collegiate level and 19 in the NBA.
The bobblehead giveaway highlights a busy promotional calendar which also added autographs with Rutgers baseball standout and Amazing Race competitor Tim Sweeney prior (5:45-6:45) to the UConn game on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
