RU Tied for Ninth at Maryland Invitational

ROCKVILLE, Md. - Rutgers men's golf is tied for ninth with a 304 total after the first round of the Maryland Terrapin Invitational, held Monday at the Woodmont Country Club. Junior Jonathan Chang and senior Jacob Stockl paced the Scarlet Knights on day one with matching cards of 75, tying them for 21st individually.
Two rounds were scheduled for Monday, but play was suspended in the second round due to heavy fog. Round two will resume Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., followed by the third and final round.
Rutgers trails tournament leader Loyola University-Maryland by 17 strokes. Host Maryland is second with a 290, two strokes off the pace.
Sophomore Ryan Rose recorded 14 pars on the par-72, 7,250-yard North Course, the second-most by any golfer, en route to a 76 that tied him for 30th in the 75-player field.
Freshmen Toks Pedro and Jack Panagos comprised the rest of Rutgers' scorecard. Pedro fired a 78 to tie for 49th and Panagos shot an 83 to place 72nd.
Playing as individuals, freshman Matt Holuta is tied for 39th with a first-round 77 and sophomore Michael Howe recorded a 78 to tie for 49th.
