Volleyball Welcomes Michigan, Michigan State

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Oct. 16, 2014) - Coming off back-to-back losses on the road, the Rutgers women's volleyball team welcomes Michigan and Michigan State to the College Ave. Gym. The Scarlet Knights take on the Wolverines Friday, Oct. 17 and go up against the Spartans on Saturday, Oct. 18.
PROMOTIONS
Friday's match brings back Flip Friday. The first 20 students in attendance will receive a free Banana Flip.
Leading up to the match against MSU, volleyballs will be dropped around campus. All winning volleyballs found can be redeemed at Saturday's match for a free Fat Cat.

LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (7-12, 0-6 Big Ten) looks to end a six-game losing skid. Last weekend, RU dropped a pair of matches on the road at then-No. 6 Wisconsin and then-No. 23 Minnesota. The Scarlet Knights tied a season-high 26 assists in Big Ten play against the Badgers. Rutgers also put up 26 assists against then-No. 16 Illinois. In the matchup with Minnesota, RU recorded a season-high four aces against a conference opponent.
Freshman outside Meme Fletcher (Overland Park, Kan.) continues to lead the offense, recording 2.61 kills per set. Defensively, junior libero Ali Schroeter (Bakersfield, Calif.) ranks fourth in the Big Ten, averaging 4.42 digs per stanza.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
Michigan (8-8, 3-3 Big Ten) is coming off a 3-0 upset of No. 8 Nebraska, along with another sweep of Iowa two days prior. Three Wolverines collected Big Ten weekly honors following the weekend. Sophomore middle Abby Cole was named player of the week, senior setter Lexi Dannemiller earned setter of the week and freshman outside Adjea Lambert was recognized as freshman of the week. Cole ranks third in the conference with a .396 hitting percentage on a team-high 210 kills. Head coach Mark Rosen is in his 16th season with the program.

The Scarlet Knights and the Wolverines will meet for the first time in program history.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN STATE
Michigan State (10-7, 3-3 Big Ten) split the weekend 1-1 with a four set loss to Nebraska, in addition to a 3-0 win over Iowa. Senior libero Kori Moser sits at third in the Big Ten with 4.57 digs per set and ranks second in Big Ten play with 4.70 digs per set. Offensively, sophomore outside Chloe Reinig paces the team with 226 kills on the season. The Spartans are led by 10-year head coach Cathy George.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. MICHIGAN STATE
In 2000, RU and MSU met for the first time. The Scarlet Knights dropped a three-set decision to the Spartans in the match.
