CLOSING OUT HOMESTAND
The Rutgers men's soccer team closes out its current four-game homestand against Army on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Yurcak Field. The Scarlet Knights are looking to bounce back from Saturday's 2-0 loss to No. 19 Northwestern.
The first 500 fans in attendance can receive a free Rutgers USA "R" magnet.
DEFENSIVE BATTLE
It was defensive battle for both teams for much of the night, as No. 19 Northwestern used two second half goals to exit Yurack Field with a 2-0 win over the Rutgers men's soccer on Saturday night.
Rutgers, facing its fourth ranked opponent of the season in Big Ten play, ended the night outshooting the Wildcats, 9-7, including a 6-2 advantage in the first half.
The scoreless stalemate broke in the 59th minute with Northwestern's Drew Rosenberg making a pass across the front of the Rutgers goal, where Cole Missimo punched the ball in from the right post, for his team-leading fifth score of the year.
ABOUT ARMY
The Army Black Knights come to Yurcak Field with a 5-4-4 overall record and 2-2-1 mark in the Patriot League. The Black Knights have gone unbeaten in their last three contests, including Saturday's 0-0 double overtime match-up with American, a squad receiving votes in last week's NSCAA/Continental Tire Poll.
Forwards sophomore Nick Williams and freshman Mario Da Silva both lead Army with two goals a piece, while seven other Black Knights have registered a goal.
In net, senior Winston Boldt has recorded six shutouts and is holding a 0.72 goals against average and .808 save percentage.
ALL-TIME VS. ARMY
Tuesday marks the 27th meeting between Rutgers and Army and the first meeting since 1989. The Black Knights lead the all-time series 16-8-2. The Scarlet Knights, however, have won the last meeting back in 1989, 1-0, and have been winners in six of the last eight contests.
ALL-TIME VS. THE PATRIOT LEAGUE
The Scarlet Knights are 91-75-13 all-time against the Patriot League.
American: 3-1
Army: 8-16-2
Boston Univ.: 1-0
Bucknell: 14-13-2

WRIGHT AWAY
Freshman forward Jason Wright continues to lead the Scarlet Knights after adding a pair of goals last Tuesday night against Penn with 16 points (7G, 2A) on the year. The Kingston, Jamaica native is second in the Big Ten in points (16), as well as goals per game (0.54).
Wright needs one more goal to match RU's highest goal total by a Scarlet Knight in the last 12 seasons. Former Scarlet Knight and recent Coursen Award winner Kene Eze in 2012 and 2013 and Adam Sternberger in 2005 each had eight goals in their respective seasons.
