Scarlet Knights Place Sixth at Fighting Camel Classic

Oct. 21, 2014 BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Rutgers women's golf finished sixth at the nine-team Fighting Camel Classic, played Monday and Tuesday at the par 72, 6,026-yard Keith Hills Country Club.
The Scarlet Knights totaled a 948 (324-303-321). Host school Campbell University won the nine-team tournament with an 895.
Freshman Emily Mills paced Rutgers wire to wire, carding a 229 (80-73-76) to finished tied for 13th individually in the 51-player event. High Point sophomore Sarah Bae won the Classic by a stroke with a four-over-par 220 (70-72-78).
"Emily had a good tournament," said Rutgers head coach Kari Williams. "As a team, we struggled with big numbers on a few holes. Overall, we had a good fall. We have lots of work to do this winter and look forward to putting that work in."
Sophomore Taylor Clark also had a strong tournament, tying for 32nd with a 239 (81-76-82). Clark finished the tournament a combined one-under-par on par-five holes.
Rounding out the Scarlet Knights' scorecard were junior Racquel Zurick, freshman Tatum Jackson and junior Gabrielle Sacheli. Zurick shot a 241 (81-78-82) to tie for 36th. Jackson finished tied for 41st with a 244 (82-81-81). Sacheli placed 44th with a 246 (84-76-86).
Playing as an individual, junior Christina Paulsen matched Zurick's scorecard of 241 (81-78-82) to tie for 36th.
The Fighting Camel Classic wraps up the team's fall competition schedule. Rutgers will return to the links at the Kiawah Island Invitational in South Carolina next March.
