2014 Big Ten Men's Soccer Conference Awards
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's soccer freshman forward Jason Wright (Kingston, Jamaica) was a unanimous selection to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team it was announced on Wednesday night.
Wright led Rutgers in his first season "On The Banks" with 10 goals, five assists and 25 points. His 10 goals and 25 points currently leads all Big Ten scorers and were the most by a Scarlet Knight since the 2003 season.
Most recently, the freshman forward was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week after capturing five points in Rutgers' 5-2 Big Ten Tournament victory over Wisconsin and collecting a pair of assists in the Scarlet Knights' regular season finale against No. 17 Maryland.
Wright captured three game-winners during the 2014 campaign, including the play-in victory over Wisconsin giving men's soccer the first Big Ten Tournament win of any sport in Rutgers school history. In addition to his two tallies against the Badgers, he also had multiple goal games in wins over Penn, Lafayette, as well as against Princeton.
