
Taintor Lands On All-B1G Tournament Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Junior Mitchell Taintor (Storrs, Conn.) was named to the men's soccer All-Big Ten Tournament Team it was announced on Sunday following the championship contest.
Taintor had a goal and an assist in the Scarlet Knights' 5-2 play-in victory over Wisconsin, giving Rutgers its first ever Big Ten Tournament win. He helped put RU up 2-0 in first half play as he played a free kick to junior JP Correa (Montville, N.J.) to set up senior Nate Bruccoleri (Bordentown, N.J.) for the goal. Taintor later blasted a free kick from 20 yards out to give Rutgers a 4-1 advantage in the 64th minute.
The junior Scarlet Knight finished the 2014 season starting all 19 games and captured seven points (3G, 1A). Defensively, he helped RU to three shutouts. Taintor also captured the game-winner in Rutgers' win over Army.
