Wright Among TDS Top Freshmen
Dec 22 | Men's Soccer
Wright led Rutgers in his first season "On The Banks" with 10 goals, five assists and 25 points. His 25 points led all Big Ten scorers and were the most by a Scarlet Knight since the 2003 season. He also finished the season in a three-way tie in the Big Ten in goals (10) and tied for fifth in assists (5).
The freshman forward captured three game-winners during the 2014 campaign, including the play-in victory over Wisconsin giving the men's soccer team the first Big Ten Tournament win of any sport in school history. In addition to his two tallies against the Badgers, Wright also had multiple goal games in wins over Penn, Lafayette, as well as against Princeton.
Wright was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week after capturing five points in Rutgers' 5-2 Big Ten Tournament victory over Wisconsin and collecting a pair of assists in the Scarlet Knights' regular season finale against No. 17 Maryland in early November.
