Rutgers and Temple also faced St. Joseph's earlier this season. The Scarlet Knights downed the Hawks, 76-52, in their season opener on Nov. 14, while the Owls fell in overtime, 78-74, on Nov. 18.

The senior forward had an incredible game against #6 UNC on Dec. 4 with a career-tying 24 points and career-high 24 rebounds.
The Clayton, Delaware native captured 15 double-doubles last season, the most double figure scoring and rebounding games since Kia Vaughn, currently with the WNBA's Washington Mystics, had 12 double-doubles during the 2006-07 season.

TIP OFF
• The 2014 WNIT Champions returned to the win column on Sunday afternoon with a 64-52 victory at No. 25 Arkansas. RU improved to 1-1 against the Top 25.
• The Scarlet Knights had four in double figures against the Razorbacks led by 17 points from Philadelphia native Kahleah Copper. Tyler Scaife, who returned to her home state, added 13 points.
• Betnijah Laney has had eight straight double-doubles to start off the 2014-15 campaign and currently leads the nation in the category. She had 12 points and 11 rebounds at Arkansas on Sunday.
• On Thursday night against #6 UNC in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Laney poured in 24 points and hauled in 24 rebounds. Her 24 rebounds set a RAC record (men's or women's) and is listed among the top rebounding efforts in the country this season.
• Additionally, Laney joined the 1,000 point club against the Tar Heels, becoming the 34th Scarlet Knight to accomplish the feat.
ABOUT TEMPLE
Once conference rivals in the Atlantic-10 and American Athletic Conference, Rutgers and Temple meet in nonconference play.
The Owls are 3-5 overall and have lost two straight with setbacks at home to Delaware (69-58) and Fordham (71-64). Temple's last win was a 81-69 victory over Harvard on Nov. 30 - a squad which RU faced in the second round of last season's WNIT.

Betnijah Laney's 24 rebounds vs. #6 UNC on Dec. 4 set a Rutgers Athletic Center (RAC) record - men or women. She surpassed the previous record of 21 held by Women's Basketball Hall of Famer and former WNBA All-Star Sue Wicks set back in 1987 against Penn State.
She was two rebounds shy of tying the Rutgers women's basketball single game record. Sandy Tupurins grabbed 26 rebounds against William Paterson on Mar. 1, 1977.
Her 24 rebounds also placed her name among the top 15 all-time at RU in rebounding.

CLEANING THE GLASS
Rutgers has won the battle of the boards in all eight games to date.
Betnijah Laney, who led RU in rebounding at 8.5 boards per game last season, has not missed a beat and is hauling in 14.8 rebounds per game in 2014-15. She is second nationally in both defensive rebounds per game (10.0) and total rebounds per game (14.8).
Laney had 17 double digit rebounding efforts last season.
NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP
Tyler Scaife, last year's American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, has led the Scarlet Knights in scoring in five of the season's first eight games and is averaging a team-leading 17.0 points per game.
Scaife has reached double figure scoring in 35 of her 45 career appearances.
She dropped in 25 points in the double overtime loss to #6 UNC, marking her third 20+ point game of the 2014-15 season and 10th of her career.

Point guard Syessence Davis averaged 2.9 steals per game last season, led the American and was ninth nationally in the category last season.
She recorded eight steals in last Sunday's 100-44 win over Davidson, tying for the most steals by a Scarlet Knight since 2005. Former teammate Erica Wheeler also had eight thefts at DePaul on Feb. 12, 2013.
She needs two more steals to rank among RU's top 10 in the category.

FROM SIXTH WOMAN TO STARTING LINEUP
Briyona Canty, who served as Rutgers' "sixth woman" a year ago, has a successful start at point guard in seven of the first eight games for the Scarlet Knights.
Canty captured her second career double-double with 12 points and a new career-high 10 assists in the win over Northeastern on Nov. 18. It was the second straight game the redshirt junior guard had reset her career mark in assists. She performed her first double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in RU's WNIT semifinal win at USF.
Canty has registered five or more assists in six of RU's eight games to date.

In the season opener against St. Joseph's Canty tied her career-high in points (16) and also added a then career-high eight assists. The redshirt junior guard also captured 16 points in the Scarlet Knights' American Athletic Conference semifinal appearance against eventual national champion, UConn.
Canty set a new career-high in steals with six at Wagner on Nov. 25. She surpassed her previous-high of four last recorded at Bowling Green in the WNIT on March 31, 2014.
LIVING IN THE PAINT
Rutgers continues to dominate the paint just like they did last season.
RU is averaging 37.5 points in the paint through its first eight games of 2014-15, which included a season-high 50 in the No. 25 win at Wagner. It was the Scarlet Knights highest total inside since netting 52 paint points in last year's win over the Seahawks on Dec. 13, 2013, as well as against UCF on Feb. 15, 2014.
Only #6 UNC has outscored the Scarlet Knights in the paint as the Tar Heels had a 44-32 advantage on Dec. 4.
