Women's Golf Earns Perfect APR Score

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women’s golf earned a perfect multi-year academic progress rate (APR) score of 1000 for data concluding with the 2012-13 academic year. It marked the second consecutive year and the third time since the data began being tabulated in 2004-05 that the team earned a perfect multi-year mark.
Women’s golf received public recognition from the NCAA for top academic performance for their multi-year APR score last week.
“This is quite an honor for our team,” said 22nd-year head coach Maura Ballard. “We have always made academic performance and earning our degrees a top priority. I am very proud of my players for their commitment to our vision.”
The report is based on NCAA Division I APR data submitted by the institution for the 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years.
The team had many notable finishes in 2013-14. Rutgers captured third place at the Monterey Bay Invitational and tied for sixth at the 17-team Yale Intercollegiate.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention, and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
