Men's Cross Country Back In Action at Monmouth Invitational

The Rutgers men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday at 20th running of the Monmouth University Cross Country Invitational at Holmdel Park. The race is set to begin at 10 a.m.
Last season, the Scarlet Knights placed third overall with current junior Jaimin Vekaria (Clinton, N.J.) among the top 25. Vekaria placed 21st overall in a time of 28:21.27.
It has been nearly two weeks since the Rutgers men's cross country team has raced. The Scarlet Knights opened the season back on Sept. 6 at the Fordham Fiasco. Rutgers placed fifth overall and was led by freshman Trent Brinkofski (Bridgewater, N.J.). In his RU debut, Brinkofski raced to a time of 28:31.03 and placed 23rd overall on the five mile course.
Following Saturday's race, the Rutgers men's cross country team will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 10 at the Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortland Park.
