Women's Golf in Seventh at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Rutgers women's golf team is in seventh place after one round of the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate, which began Friday at The Course at Yale.
The Scarlet Knights recorded a 308 on Friday, placing them 11 strokes behind first-place Xavier University in the 17-team event. Sophomore Taylor Clark posted a four-over-par 75 to pace the team. Clark is tied for 12th, five strokes off the lead set by Xavier's Shane Crutchfeld and Yale's Sara Garmezy.
Juniors Racquel Zurick and Gabrielle Sacheli also had strong rounds for Rutgers. Zurick contributed a round of 77, which has her tied for 25th. Sacheli is tied for 34th with a 78.
The Scarlet Knights' pair of freshmen golfers completed their scorecard. Tatum Jackson shot 78 to also tie for 34th, and Emily Mills recorded an 82 and is tied for 69th.
The Scarlet Knights, under the leadership of first-year head coach Kari Williams, return to the course Saturday morning for their second round. The tournament will conclude Sunday.
