NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Rutgers women's golf combined for a 920 (308-309-303) total and finished seventh out of 17 teams at the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate, played Friday through Sunday at The Course at Yale.
Sophomore Taylor Clark led the Scarlet Knights' effort all weekend. After two consecutive rounds of 75, Clark shot 74 on Sunday to finish with an 11-over-par 224, tied for sixth individually. Clark finished 10 strokes behind champion Elisabeth Bernabe of Yale. The Bulldogs also took the team crown with an 887 (299-295-293).
"Taylor had a good event," said Rutgers head coach Kari Williams. "We are really close to punching through the 300 score. All five players contributed this weekend and we threw out 79 today. I am proud of the women and their commitment to the process. We will keep grinding all fall. Our best golf is still ahead of us."
Juniors Racquel Zurick and Gabrielle Sacheli also had strong performances for Rutgers over the weekend. They tied for 37th with matching cards of 232 (Zurick 77-76-79, Sacheli 78-79-75).
