Men's Golf Ninth after Round Two of Badger Invite

MADISON, Wisc. - Rutgers men's golf is in ninth place with a 609 (301-308) total after the opening two rounds of the 13-team Badger Invitational, played Sunday and Monday at the par-72, 7,259-yard University Ridge Golf Course.
Sophomore Ryan Rose paced the Scarlet Knights with a three-over 147 (72-75), which puts him tied for 14th in the 79-player field. Junior Jonathan Chang followed up his opening-round 70 with a 78, placing him tied for 19th with a 148.
The course played tougher Monday, as no team scored under par. Sam Houston State has the 36-hole lead with an even-par 576 (283-293).
Freshman Toks Pedro, junior Louis Bodine and senior Jacob Stockl made up the rest of Rutgers's card. Pedro is tied for 41st with a 153 (77-76). Bodine has carded a 161 (82-79) to tie for 69th. Stockl recorded his second straight 82 to tie for 72nd with a 164.
Sophomore Chase Wheatley is also in the field as an individual. He is in 79th place with a 185 (92-93).
Under the leadership of third-year head coach Rob Shutte, the Scarlet Knights conclude the tournament with an additional 18 holes on Tuesday, starting with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
