PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Finishing strong with a 48.875 on floor exercise, Rutgers gymnastics scored a 194.350 to place second in a quad meet Saturday at the Livingston Gym. No. 21 Michigan State won meet by sixth tenths at 194.950, with RU placing higher than Brown (192.875) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh (188.325).
The meet was attended by 959 fans, marking the fourth consecutive home sellout for the Scarlet Knights.
"It comes down to hitting 4-for-4 if you want to win in the Big Ten," head coach Louis Levine said. "Every week you go up against a top team in the country. Unfortunately, today we put up three pretty good events and one not so good event and we lost by just sixth tenths. We have to hit all four events. It is a work and progress and we will keep getting better. This was parallel to last week, but if you want to compete with the best, we have to do better."
