Additional Men's Basketball Promotions Announced

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (January 8, 2015) - The Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics today announced additional events to augment the men's basketball promotional schedule. A halftime performance by world-renowned performance painter David Garibaldi, pre-game autographs with the McCourty twins, pre-game autographs with WWE Hall of Famer Sergeant Slaughter and a blackout will supplement an already full gameday calendar.
Garibaldi will do a live halftime performance during the Michigan game on Jan. 20. Hundreds of thousands have witnessed Garibaldi paint live by transforming a blank black canvas into pop art through his "Rhythm and Hue" shows. Garibaldi has performed for Fortune 500 companies including AT&T, Intel and Disney. He has also been featured at the NBA Finals and with celebrities Snoop Dog, Santana, Tommy Lee, Dave Navarro and Blue Man Group. The contest versus Michigan State on Jan. 27 at the RAC has been denoted as a "Black Out." Fans are encouraged to wear black to elevate the home court advantage versus the Spartans.
Hall of Fame wrestler Sergeant Slaughter will sign autographs for an hour prior to tip-off for the contest versus Purdue on Feb. 12. One of most recognizable names in wrestling history, the former U.S. Marine became a WWE Champion and United States Champion before being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004. Jason and Devin McCourty are well known to Rutgers fans and will sign autographs for an hour pre-game for the contest versus Indiana on Feb. 22. The twin brothers were football standouts "On the Banks" and are both currently starting defensive backs in the NFL. Devin plays for the New England Patriots while Jason plays for the Tennessee Titans. Each brother has found success in the NFL. Jason led all NFL cornerbacks in tackles in 2012, while Devin was named to the Associated Press All-Pro team in both 2010 and 2013. Both were selected this season as their respective team's winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year.
