Men's X/C Heads to Princeton Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers men's cross country team continues its season this weekend, when the Scarlet Knights compete in the Princeton Invitational on Saturday at the West Windsor Field in Princeton, N.J. The 8k (five mile) race will start at 11:15 a.m.
Along with RU and the host Tigers, the field features Bucknell, Delaware, Duquesne, Fairleigh Dickinson, George Washington, Guelph, Kent State, La Salle, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola, Maryland Eastern Shore, Mt. St. Mary's, Navy, NJIT, Penn, Pittsburgh, Rider, St. Joseph's, Temple, Towson, Maryland Baltimore County and Villanova.

In its last time out, Rutgers finished third at the Metropolitan Championships Oct. 9 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, the program's highest finish in the event in six years. Sophomore Trent Brinkofski (Somerville, N.J.) led the Scarlet Knights with a seventh-place finish, earning Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for his efforts.
After the Princeton Invitational, RU will compete at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, Nov. 1 in Chicago, Ill.
