Tennis Continues Fall Season at Bulldog Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers tennis team continues its fall campaign this weekend, when the Scarlet Knights compete in the Bulldog Invitational in New Haven, Conn. The invite, hosted by Yale, takes place from Friday to Sunday.
"We're excited to compete at the Bulldog Invitational, which features some of the best teams in the Northeast region," said head coach Benjamin Bucca. "We have prepared well for the competition we will face giving us confidence that we will play strong tennis for the entire weekend."
Along with Rutgers and the host Bulldogs, the invitational features Brown, Boston College, Dartmouth, Harvard and Pittsburgh. The field also includes a hybrid team with both players from Columbia and Yale participating on the same squad.
The Scarlet Knights begin action on Friday, playing against Harvard at noon. RU competes against Dartmouth on Saturday at 2 p.m., followed by a matchup with Yale on Sunday at 9 a.m.
Rutgers opened the fall season on Sept. 27, when the Scarlet Knights competed in the Brown Invitational. Junior Farris Cunningham(Houston, Texas) finished second in her respective draw, while senior Gina Li(Hillsborough, N.J.)placed third in her bracket.
After the Bulldog Invitational, RU hosts Fordham at the East Brunswick Racquet Club for a scrimmage on Monday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.
