NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Oct. 9, 2015) - Facing its third ranked team in as many weekends, the Rutgers volleyball team was topped by No. 16 Wisconsin on Friday night at the College Ave. Gym. The Badgers took the match by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-11. Wisconsin, the defending Big Ten champions, improved to an overall record of 11-4 and a Big Ten mark of 3-2. Rutgers dropped to 3-14, as the squad searches to add a win in conference action. Rutgers opened the game with a service ace from senior Anna Sudbury (Tomahawk, Wisc.) to put the Scarlet Knights on the board first. As the teams traded points it was back-to-back kills from Frazier and junior Cole Trimble (Orlando, Fla.) that kept the score balanced at 5-5. The Badgers went on to register four unanswered points, but Cloyd stump the run with a kill to set the score at 9-6. Although Wisconsin would move to a 15-8 lead, another back-to-back spike and kill from Frazier and Trimble brought the count to 15-10. Despite RU's drive, UW would pull away with the first set victory at 25-15.
Moving into set two, Wisconsin remained in motion, jumping to a 7-3 edge. A kill from Cloyd brought Rutgers within three at 8-5. However, the Badgers held control of the advantage.
