CHICAGO -- The Rutgers men's cross country team concluded competition at the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, finishing in 12th place at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course in Chicago. The Scarlet Knights completed the race with a time of 2:06:06.50.
Michigan captured the team title with a time of 1:58:52.90. Illinois came in second with a team mark of 1:59:26.20, while Minnesota finished third with a time of 1:59:59.60.
Freshman Conor Murphy (Millstone, N.J.) was the top finisher for RU, securing 51st place with a time of 24:41.0. Sophomore Luke Wiley (Williamstown, N.J.) produced the second-best time with a mark of 24:52.7 for 66th place, while senior Jaimin Vekaria (Clinton, N.J.) finished the race in 79th with a time of 25:12.6.
Rutgers returns to action on Friday, Nov. 13, when the Scarlet Knights compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in Princeton, N.J.
