Volleyball Hosts Indiana for Military Appreciation Knight

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Nov. 10, 2015) - The Rutgers women's volleyball team hosts Indiana for a rematch on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the College Ave. Gym. The first serve is set for 6 p.m. ET on BTN Plus.
In honor of Veteran's Day, free American Flag R t-shirts will be given to the first 100 students to arrive at the Barn. All fans in attendance will also receive a special edition USA Block R magnet.

B1G VOLLEYBALL EXTRAVAGANZA
On Wednesday, Nov. 11, BTN will debut a unique look at the country's premier volleyball conference. B1G Volleyball Extravaganza, beginning at 7 P.M. ET, features live look-ins at all 14 Big Ten women's volleyball teams playing in seven conference matches throughout the evening. The whip-around coverage will join the Purdue at Maryland, Indiana at Rutgers and No.18 Illinois at No. 12 Ohio State matches in progress at 7 P.M. ET, and continue to spotlight additional matches for three hours throughout the night. Full matches can also be streamed via the web, smartphones, tablets and connected devices on BTN Plus on BTN2Go , BTN's digital extension.
RU'S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (4-22, 1-13 Big Ten) battled two ranked opponents over the weekend in No. 1 Penn State and No. 12 Ohio State. The Scarlet Knights kept it close in the first set against the Nittany Lions, falling by a score of 25-19, before PSU took control of the match for a 3-0 win. In its match with the Buckeyes, RU found a late burst in the final set, but it was not enough to top OSU, which sealed the win with a 25-19 victory in set three.
Senior outside Megan Stephenson (Burbank, Calif.) and junior right side Cole Trimble (Orlando, Fla.) highlighted Saturday's match. Stephenson led the team with 10 kills and a .387 hitting clip, six of which came in the third set as she knocked down three in a row to keep the Scarlet Knights alive at 23-18. Trimble made the most of her starting nod with a .357 hitting percentage, committing only one error on 14 attempts.
Overall, sophomore outside Meme Fletcher (Overland Park, Kan.) remains consistent, ranking fourth in the Big Ten with 3.81 kills per set, while senior setter Anna Sudbury (Tomahawk, Wisc.) sits in 11th with 8.86 assists per set. Senior libero Ali Schroeter (Bakersfield, Calif.) ranks ninth with 3.42 digs per frame.
SCOUTING INDIANA
Indiana (13-13, 3-11 Big Ten) enters the match on a four-game skid, including straight-set losses to then-No. 4 Minnesota, No. 12 Wisconsin, Iowa and No. 8 Nebraska. The Hoosiers fell to the Hawkeyes by the slim margins of 25-19, 25-21 and 20-25 on Wednesday. On Saturday, IU was edged by Nebraska, 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.
Jazzmine McDonald ranks 10th in the conference in hitting percentage (.324), while Megan Tallman ranks ninth in assists per set (9.88). Amelia Anderson sits in fifth in both total kills (346) and kills per set (3.68). On the defensive side, Courtney Harnish is among the top-10 in digs per set (3.38).
SERIES VERSUS INDIANA
Indiana has won all five matches between the programs, including the most recent matchup on October 3 of this season. Although Rutgers claimed the win in the first set and held the edge over Indiana until the final serves of the second, the Hoosiers snuck away with a four-set victory by scores of 21-25, 26-24, 25-20 and 25-19.
